What is this test?
An Absolute Eosinophil count is a blood test that measures the number of white blood cells called Eosinophils. Eosinophils become active when you have certain allergic diseases, infections, and other medical conditions.

Test instructions
Alcohol: Please abstain from alcohol before the test.Medication: Any pre-existing medication should only be stopped after consultation with the referring Physician.

Soft Copy (Portal/Email) : If the sample is collected before 12 noon then the report will get delivered as per Reporting Time / Maximum TAT (Turn Around Time) indicated with the test. For samples collected after 12 Noon, 12 hours may be added to the Report Turn Around TimeHard Copy : Delivered upon request. A small convenience fee may apply.

Why is it Done?
Eosinophils are a type of disease-fighting white blood cell. This condition most often indicates a parasitic infection, an allergic reaction or cancer. You can have high levels of eosinophils in your blood (blood eosinophilia) or in tissues at the site of an infection or inflammation (tissue eosinophilia).
